Dr. Mickie Yager is a family practitioner with an emphasis on perinatal care and pediatrics. She graduated with a Bachelor's degree and Doctorate in Chiropractic from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.
Dr. Yager practices several hands-on chiropractic techniques, including Gonstead. She is certified in the Webster technique as well. This results in reduced stress to the mother's uterus and supporting ligaments and allows for optimal fetal positioning for a healthy delivery. Dr. Yager earned her certification in pediatrics and perinatal care from the Academy of Family Practice and Council on Chiropractic Pediatrics.
While attending Palmer College of Chiropractic, Dr. Yager was a club officer in the Palmer Pediatrics Club as well as a member of the Gonstead Club and Palmer Sports Outreach. She is also involved with the following professional organizations today:
* International Chiropractic Pediatric Association
* International Chiropractic Association
* Iowa Chiropractic Society
* American Pregnancy Association
According to Dr. Yager, one of the most influential experiences of her career was her participation in the Palmer Clinic Abroad Program. Dr. Yager and her classmates traveled to Hyderabad, India where they provided health care services to hundreds of underprivileged men, women, and children. She finds unique ways to work within her local community as well. Dr. Yager currently volunteers with Catholic Charities of Dubuque, a social service organization responding to persons in need and working to achieve justice in our society. Dr. Yager also spends time volunteering at Sunnycrest Manor, a long term residential facility in Dubuque. She is honored to be serving families in the Tri-State area.
